Will wonders never cease? Look what just flew into Eva Gentry Consignment - a pair of the infamous Rick Owens "turbo" wedge over the knee boots. They are made with a stretch leather around the top, with a thicker more durable leather around the calf and shoe. They can be worn pulled up high, or slouched as much as you want. The boots are a size 40, but they fit like a 41.
These two garments don't have a whole lot in common, except for the fact that both are meticulously constructed, completely fabulous, and made in unexpected colors that we happen to love.
The dress above is a tailored Prada number in muted forest green with a lighter spring green ribbon belt and velvet pocket details. Below is a coat by Tsumori Chisato which features dramatic gathering at the neckline, and an ombre dye effect on the body.
Sometimes our beautiful skirts at Consignment get lost in the racks...so here's a little spotlight on some of our stand out skirt stars!
This (slightly) shiny silver Prada skirt is from one of our favorite collections where all of the models wore matching silk turbans! The navy skirt to the right is classic Comme Des Garcons, with a skewed traditional closure and a big zipper to hold the whole thing together.
The Zero + Maria Cornejo skirt to the right has a gorgeous fabrication of shimmery fabric mixed with sheer. To the right is a black ambiguously shaped Vivienne Westwood skirt with an attached belt (which guarantees hours of sartorial experimentation!)
Are you still searching for the perfect new years dress? Well this might just be the one. There is something innately magical about this Gary Graham grey sequined dress. We love the deconstructed layers and raw edges throughout.
Adorable & slightly evil bubble dress with ruffle collar by Mint / Laser cut tunic with plastic appliques by Karta We can't deal with how adorable this tailored heart-printed Dries Van Noten(SOLD) top is! / Beautiful grey vintage eyelet dress
Look closely at this silk Jill Stuart party dress - it has one of the dreamiest prints we've ever seen! We love the sky blue watercolor dancers. To the right is a Dries Van Noten(SOLD) wrap sweater that somehow combines every color of the rainbow in a harmonious way.
Its as if Light Brite & Moschino had a baby, and this blazer (left) came out! To the right is a Matthew Williamson jacket which combines several knit textures and even has its own attached scarf. Leave it to Isabel Marant to make a printed pattern out of a patchwork quilt and pull it off with effortless cool SOLD. And the Anna Sui dress the the right is one big optical illusion!
We find that there's something very avant garde about this shiny asymmetrical See by Chloe dress. Perhaps its the fact that they slashed one sleeve & left the other on? There's also pockets. The "dress" to the right is all that & more - a cape, a scarf, trousers...it's a beautiful diaphanous pleated Issey Miyake piece with one large opening (for head, arms, legs...). Its the pieces that keeps on giving!
The Dries Van Noten dress to the left has a remarkable amount of delicate pleating around the neckline leading into a sleek sleeve. The dress can be belted around the waist, or worn lower at the hips. The Marni dress to the right has similar neckline pleating, with a skirt that structures the entire dress!
